A Little About Me
I'm a freelance writer and editor living in Mesa, Arizona. My love of reading and writing began during my upbringing in Ceres, California. I spent summer after summer visiting the library and writing my own stories in my blue spiral notebook. As I aged, my desire to write grew. College was a turning point for me, because I had to definitively decide which career path I would take. It took me a few semesters before I knew that I wanted to become a writer. I've been working toward that goal ever since.

Experience
Writing
I've written over 350 pages of web content, blogs, articles, and press releases on the topics of adoption, foster care, foster parenting, pregnancy, parenting, and adoption reunion, and I continue to write more each day. While I don't have personal experience in these topics, my ability to research has helped me tremendously. Now, I am comfortable and confident in my ability to write on a wide range of topics, even if I don't have personal experience.
I've written several e-books on general back pain and back pain in women, and I enjoyed the research and composition parts of those projects. The general back pain e-book was over 80 pages and included causes of back pain, traditional and non-traditional remedies, and exercises and stretches to help relieve back pain and strengthen important muscles.
I've had ample experience in SEO writing, as I've worked as a marketing copywriter for an SEO firm and as an SEO expert with an e-learning company. I've written hundreds of articles and blogs, topics ranging from weight loss pills to trucking companies to food handler training. Because of these experiences, I've learned that placing applicable and relevant keywords into well-written articles can add significant value, both to the search engines and to the readers.
Editing
I've had the exciting opportunity to work as a contracted editor for a small publishing house. I worked one-on-one with authors editing and revising their novels in order to get them ready for publication. This experience combined two of my favorite things, reading and editing. I was able to read the story as a writer, editor, and a reader. Reading this way provides me with a clearer perspective on the writing and editing process. To see books I've edited, please visit my portfolio page or my Belles Lettres Literary Services website.
Teaching
I'm currently an adjunct professor for the Rio Salado College Creative Writing Department. I'm currently teaching several sections for CRW271--Topics in Writing: Fiction, and it has been an amazing experience. I've learned so much about my own writing while teaching my students of the basics of fiction writing and creating effective scenes. To find out more, check out my faculty profile!
